Dry Eye
Systematic assessment and long-term management of dry eye disease through identification of underlying causes, evaluation of ocular surface health, and implementation of targeted, evidence-based treatment strategies.

Dry eye management involves the identification and treatment of factors that disrupt tear film stability and ocular surface health. The assessment includes evaluation of tear volume, tear film composition, meibomian gland function, eyelid anatomy, and ocular surface inflammation. Symptoms such as burning, grittiness, fluctuating vision, and excessive tearing are correlated with clinical findings.
Treatment is personalised according to the underlying cause and may include preservative-free lubricants, lipid-based formulations, anti-inflammatory therapy, eyelid hygiene, punctal occlusion, and lifestyle modifications. Environmental factors, contact lens use, medications, and systemic conditions are also addressed.
Follow-up allows reassessment of ocular surface stability, adjustment of therapy, and monitoring of treatment efficacy. The overall objective is long-term symptom control, improved ocular surface integrity, and preservation of visual function.
