Diabetic Retinopathy Screening
Structured retinal screening using clinical examination and fundus imaging to detect, document, and monitor diabetes-related retinal changes before the onset of vision-threatening complications.

Diabetic retinopathy screening involves early detection of retinal changes due to diabetes, often before the onset of symptoms. The evaluation includes detailed fundus examination and high-resolution fundus photography to document retinal findings, including microaneurysms, hemorrhages, exudates, and macular edema.
Screening intervals are individualized based on duration of diabetes, glycaemic control, and baseline retinal findings. The service identifies patients requiring intervention or closer follow-up and coordinates with systemic care providers when needed.
Regular monitoring allows early detection of sight-threatening changes such as proliferative disease or clinically significant macular edema. The aim is prevention of vision loss through timely detection, structured surveillance, and appropriate escalation of care.
